FOOD PROGRAM   Shield of Faith Pasadena and The Greater Pasadena Community Development Corporation (Hereafter GPCDC) is teaming up to provide a bi-weekly food program for families in need in the community of Pasadena and adjunct cities. Shield of Faith Pasadena and GPCDC is a a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity.   Our Mission   Through education, advocacy and distribution of food, we will anticipate to meet the food needs of the hungry in our community.   Hours of Operation:   Office hours: Monday -Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Distribution hours: Bi-Weekly on Thursday's 12:00 am to 2:00 pm.   The food program serves:   1. Children   • Children health, cognitive growth and ability to perform in school due to hunger. • 1,000's of children in the San Gabriel Valley are at risk for hunger.   2. Seniors   • Many seniors live on a fixed income that does not increase with inflation. Some will find themselves making the choice between food and other essentials. • Thousands's of local seniors need assistance with supplement   3. The Working Poor   • We will assistance those between jobs or do not earn enough to be self-sufficient. • Other groups often seeking assistance include: people suffering from illness, people fleeing abuse, the homeless, the unemployed or underemployed, people coping with addiction.   Sponsor the Food Program?   May be you aren't in a position to volunteer, so how can you participate. You can share a tax-deductible sponsorship. With your sponsorship, we will be able to:   Recipients will receive a bag of groceries to meet their monthly need. Serve the jobless, children, and senior, to name a few. Purchase food via a community food bank Provide counseling and workshops   You choose sponsorship level!
